About Insomnia

Although many sleep problems are temporary, there are many people who are plagued for months and even years by restless nights. Many take sleep for granted but more than one in four people find sleeping difficult and lack of a good night's sleep can lead to exhaustion, irritability and difficulty concentrating the following day.

Often, sleeping problems can be a reflection of worries and stresses occuring during the day and these can also manifest themselves as nightmares or night terrors. It's also quite a lonely place to be when it feels like everyone else is asleep!

All too common is the scenario where you've had a long, hard day and you need a good, restful night's sleep. You lie in bed and close your eyes but your mind is working overtime. The pressure you put on yourself to get to sleep increases as you become more aware of the night time hours ticking away.

The main causes of sleeping problems

Sleeping is something that our bodies naturally know how to do. When sleep becomes disrupted, it almost always as a result of our beliefs and unhelpful thinking styles that are interferring with that process...

• Worrying, brooding or ruminating during the day, by the time bedtime comes, anxiety levels are elevated and you feel burdened by the things you've carried around in your head during the day.

• The fear and dread of not being able to sleep is a big contributory factor, alongside the extra worry of how hard it will be to function the next day. The more you worry about not sleeping, the bigger your belief becomes that you won't sleep - often resulting in a self fulfilling prophesy.

• Lying in bed and over-thinking events from the previous day, what you need to do tomorrow or in the future. Over-planning leads to an over-active mind which leads to poor sleep.

JENNIFER, 29, HELP FOR INSOMNIA

Cara and her Thrive course completely changed my life. I went to see her to cure my sleeping disorder and ended up not only being able to sleep well for the first time in years (I spent 2 years on and off with very little or no sleep at all some nights) but I also now have a much better outlook and understanding on my life and how I live it.

You CAN overcome insomnia. Here's how...

The good news is that The Thrive Programme® can help resolve your sleeping difficulties in just 6 weeks. It doesn't matter how long you've suffered from it for or how severe the problem is, insomnia can be a thing of the past.

What is The Thrive Programme?

It is an easy-to-follow yet extremely effective psychological training programme to overcome mental health problems and learn to thrive. You will learn how to significantly improve your thoughts, emotions and beliefs so you can feel back in control and symptom-free.

How does it work?

Over 6 weekly, one-to-one sessions, I will teach how all you need in order to reach your goals. The sessions can be done either in person in my offices or via video conferencing such as Skype or Zoom.

A completely different approach!

The Thrive Programme® is a totally fresh approach to achieving lasting mental well-being. If you have previously tried other interventions or therapies that have not worked for you (as is the case with most of the clients I see), please be reassured that The Thrive Programme is completely different to any other kind of intervention available for mental well-being. The Programme is unique.....and it works.
