Changing Limiting Beliefs (CLB)

This is a unique and highly effective training course originally developed by Hypnotherapist Rob Kelly. Working together with me, you will learn how to take control of your thoughts, feelings, emotions and worries.

Discover how to completely change the way you think and feel about yourself and challenging situations - enabling you to live a happier, more successful and positive life. It generally takes around five hours to complete, although in some cases the program can be much shorter.

This training course is the culmination of twenty years of studying people: what makes them happy, what makes them sad, what makes them sick, what makes them healthy. Why on some days can you feel happy and optimistic and other days suddenly feel down and miserable? Why do some people keep getting colds, whilst others never get colds? Why do some people get so depressed that they kill themselves, whilst others, despite sometimes terrible hardships, are resilient and face the pressures and stresses of life with a spring in their step and a smile on their face?

 

At a last resort I came to Cara with diagnosed depression, low self esteem issues and what i considered to be a ‘self destructive personality’...we embarked on a session of shifting perspective and beyond all expectation it was then that i literally had the most profound awakening. I was able to rationalise that every single negative event in my life had been driven by my ability to foresee failure. I had literally used my ‘depression’ as a security blanket to excuse myself from even trying to be a mother & wife, to work, to get out of bed; to partake in life.

I learned in an instant that instead of my compulsions being symptomatic of my illness, as i had always believed that in fact I had consciously chosen to take the paths I had taken in life. I realised that faced with any dilemma, instead of taking control, i had taken the easy way out and chosen to be a victim. With this knowledge i literally skipped out of Cara’s office, not concerned with what demons I had left there, but feeling like i had been given another shot and stripped of my comfort blanket, I now have no option but to take control and responsibility for my life. As a result I am free from the past and so excited about what the future holds.

When you genuinely understand how your mind works, ie, the interaction between your emotions, your personality and your thinking, you feel much more in control and empowered. When you recognise that most of your problems, stresses, symptoms and ill-health are either caused or made worse by poorly-managed thinking, you feel fantastic ... because if you caused these problems, then you can change them!

I suffered from anxiety and panic attacks for 14 years. I tried everything to get better, psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, medicines, tablets, even religion, but nothing seemed to work.
Then I met Cara and for the first time I could see definite signs of improvement, I felt much much better. And what it is most important, she is the only one among about 15 doctors I met who really cared.
Most of them were cold, distant and they didn't really understood what I was feeling and going through.

The key to the success of this amazing program lays in understanding some of the causes behind negative or limiting beliefs. When you can pinpoint where these beliefs come from, it's quite easy to change them into something working for you rather than against you.

A limiting belief system is a set of personal beliefs that can have an incredibly negative or damaging effect on your life. Limiting beliefs can cause you to suffer, for example: relationship problems, ill-health, fears and anxieties, and even mental and physical illnesses. This training program has already helped to change the limiting beliefs of people with problems such as clinical depression, M.E., post-viral fatigue syndrome, low self esteem, obsessions and help to stop smoking.

 

I was a 17-year old having real problems with anxiety and obsessive thoughts about violence etc, that even though I felt wasn’t within my capabilities, still frightened me. Over a year later, I would like to say the biggest thank you for your help in given my normal life back, at a time where I didn’t know what was happening to me. At the worse times, the thing that kept me going was looking forward to the appointments I had, in the belief that you would give me greater courage, and it worked every time...

It has benefited my life so much to be able to rid myself of these anxieties. CLB is entirely different to any other self-help techniques, NLP or CBT available, in that 90% of the success of this technique is in your understanding of your character traits and personality. It is no good teaching you any sort of 'positive thinking' or CBT or NLP techniques unless you understand the component parts of your personality. Otherwise you are never able to really alter the driving forces behind your limiting beliefs.

People who undergo this training program are referred to as either 'trainees', or 'students', but NOT 'clients' - because this is a training program and not therapy. It is not about someone else doing something for you or to you but about YOU taking control of your life. It is so much more empowering to take control of your own problems, rather than someone else resolving them for you.
